I can evaluate the extent to
which industrialization benefits
societies by analyzing evidence from
a variety of sources.
Guiding Questions
How does industrialization
benefit, harm societies?
How can writing create change?
After the Do Now we started to work on a post it note. What we had to write on it was a quote that we found on The Lorax. We would write the quote based on the word industrialization. The quote they wrote would have to do with that and they had to write why it had to do with the word.

After the post it note we moved on to a writing prompt about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. The two prompts were You are a journalist, and you are writing an editorial that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Triangle Fire. Some of your readers do not remember the significance of the tragedy. In your edito
rial, explore the historical, political, and/or cultural significance of the fire.
You are an art historian whose specialty is early 20th Century American photography. You have been asked to write a Foreword to a book of photographs depicting the Triangle Factory Fire. The purpose of this book is to capture the significance of the event and its impact on the American Labor Movement. Consider the photographs included in the gallery, and write a Foreword that illustrates how these images forcefully portray the Triangle Fire event. After reading the two of them to our selves we read it as a class and went over what was the role you were going to play, your audience, your format, your topic and the strong verbs.
After that we moved on to writing different thing about one part of the book Boys Without Names. What we did was that some tables had a piece of paper and different people would write what they connect to, wondered, predicted, how they agree, disagree and how they visualized the part of the story. when you changed tables they would write something new and if they knew the answer they would answer other's question.
Then After that we started to read the first pages so we could find words that were in a different language. After we found some words we translated into english. Every now an then we would stop to check together what was happening in the story. After a minute there was a page where there was some words that we didn't know, so we stopped reading and talked to our partners about what we thought the word was.
