Class Scribe August 26,2014

Lit Circle #3
First we started with our DO NOW. After a couple of minutes we checked with a partner. Then Ms.Vallillo gave shout outs to Karishma and Luisa, Dominick and Raj because they had very good conversations. She also gave shout outs for the whole class because on our HW we got the most important information from the chapter and wrote it down not any quote. After we did a quiz to see if we read, which was for HW. After we did our 3rd Lit Circle.

(3) Clarifying questions/ What happened in this section of the book?

After we finished our Lit Circle we did a debrief to see what we did well in the groups. Ms.Vallillo also gave us SCHOLAR SWAG because she saw a very big improvement from the first Lit Circle until now. 
 
Following, we were matching pictures to the words that are in quizlet.com. After the partners finished matching the words with the pictures Ms.Vallillo said a word and the partners raised the pictures they thought were the right word.

Next, we received a paper and we asked questions about the title like, "How is footbinding subjugation?", "Do people still bind feet?", "Why is footbinding a tradition?", "What is subjugation?"

Homework:

Finish reading article with gists next to it.

  4. Nice job Andre! You have really basic, simple information that helps a lot of people to understand better what was happening in class. I liked how you spaced out the paragraphs nicely and added images in the gaps to prevent having a huge blob of words
